Microsoft has recently taken the wrapping paper off of IE9 and released it to the world for public consumption. The browser offers many new features and a revamped user interface that has been receiving generally positive reception from its end users.

Naturally, Microsoft has been quite pleased with the growth and adoption rate that the browser has been receiving. Currently IE9 holds 3.6% usage share on Windows 7 and is continuing to grow at a rapid pace, Microsoft states on their blog:

Microsoft this week rolled out a seconde voorbeeld of its Internet Explorer 10 browser. Like the first, IE10 Platform voorbeeld 2 is primarily intended to give Web developers and designers an early look at the upcoming features so they can prepare accordingly. Outside of a handful of demos, there isn't much for the average user to play around with -- it doesn't even ship with a url bar -- but it does reveal that Microsoft appears to be on the right track.

Microsoft unveiled Internet Explorer 9 mobile for Windows Phone 7 on Monday.

Speaking at Mobile World Congress, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled that Microsoft will ship Internet Explorer 9 mobile later this year. Microsoft says Internet Explorer 9 will offer “a dramatically enhanced mobile Web browser experience.”

Microsoft continues to hold back rival browsers on Windows 7 in the United States and worldwide.

Microsoft’s latest browser, Internet Explorer 9, was released in March to Windows 7 and Vista users. Microsoft ditched Windows XP support in a bid to shift consumers and businesses onto Microsoft’s latest operating systems. Windows 7 users have warmed up to Internet Explorer 9 meer than they have with any direct rival of this IE version, namely Firefox 4.0 and Chrome 12.

According to statistics from Internet metrics firm Net Applications, this is valid both in the United States and worldwide, with IE9 grabbing the seconde spot in terms of usage share behind its precursor, Internet Explorer 8.

At the end of June 2011, some 47.94% of Windows 7 users in the US were still running IE8, a consistent drop compared to the vorige month’s usage statistics, when it accounted for as much as 53.54%.

This fall, a new set of mobile phones running under Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system should arrive on shelves, bringing to the market the latest flavor of the platform, codenamed Mango.

It should come with a number of over 500 new features and enhancements, with the new Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) Mobile being one of them.

Google revealed on Wednesday that it plans to phase out Internet Explorer 7 support.

The support will be discontinued on the company’s Apps platform from August 1. Firefox 3.5, IE7 and Safari 3 will all be dropped. “In these older browsers u may have trouble using certain features in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Docs and Google Sites,” zei Google’s Vice President of Engineering, Venkat Panchapakesan. “Eventually these apps may stop working entirely,” he added.

Microsoft announced on Wednesday that Internet Explorer 9 is now available in 93 different languages.

The software giant released support for Internet Explorer 9 in 53 additional languages on Wednesday. The language support now places Internet Explorer 9 at the top, boven for local language browser support on Windows. Microsoft's new browser, Internet Explorer 9, seems to have little to say about Microsoft. It doesn't even say "Internet Explorer" anywhere on the browser.

Microsoft has trimmed the fat off the glassy browser frame, creating meer on-screen playground for Web developers to stretch out on.

Microsoft has partnered with a variety of sites including UK National Rail, ESPN, BMW and Sky News. As of mid-2011, customers leveraging the embedded flavor of Windows 7 SP1 will be able to download the IE9 app template from the software giant’s ECE site, provided that they have the right accounts to access content.

“The Internet Explorer 9 Application Template for Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 was released in the June 2011 Feature Update. This template is used to ensure all the required dependencies for Internet Explorer 9 are added to a runtime image when created in ICE,” Lynda Allen, Microsoft Embedded program manager.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 browser has come out top, boven in a recent social engineering malware test.

NSS Labs, an independent security research and testing organization, found that Internet Explorer 9 blocks up to seven times meer malware than other browsers. Internet Explorer 9 with SmartScreen url reputation caught 96% of live malware threats compared to seconde placed Google Chrome 12 with 13.2%. NSS Labs broke down its tests into regions and found that 95% of threats in Asia were defeated door Internet Explorer 9, compared to 92% in Europe. Globally 96% of threats were defeated.

The latest NSS Labs meld is in, and the findings toon that Internet Explorer completely dominates all other browsers when it comes to preventing socially engineered malware. For those that aren’t aware, socially engineered malware is a form of malicious software that attempts to trick users into installing it, and thanks to Internet Explorer 9’s SmartScreen url filtering the browser prevents 92% of it; and up to 100% when u include Application Reputation to filer untrustworthy executables.

It might seem impossible to believe, but Windows Vista is drawing to the end of its short, unhappy life. Under Microsoft’s official product lifecycle, the mainstream support phase for Windows Vista will end in less than one year, on April 10, 2012—five years, two months, and 16 days after it became generally available on January 25, 2007. (For business editions, there’s an extended support period that lasts another five years, guaranteeing security updates until 2017.)

I don’t expect there to be any great outcry when Vista fades away. But knowing that end-of-life datum helps answer one...

Microsoft is planning to push Internet Explorer 9 as an important Windows Update.

The software giant will distribute Internet Explorer 9 to existing beta and RC users on March 21. The update will also be offered as Important to Windows Update customers. Microsoft confirmed the plans in a Twitter message on Wednesday:

Microsoft zei on Monday that it will postpone the release of Internet Explorer 9 in Japan.

The company issued a press release on Monday stating that due to the recent earthquake, it will be postponing the Japanese release of Internet Explorer 9. Microsoft cites network bandwidth load and cutting back on company activities as the primary reasons. At the start of this maand Adobe launched the Release Candidate of Flash 10.3 delivering privacy enhancements across the table, including for users running Internet Explorer 9 and IE8.

Now the final version of Flash 10.3 is available for download, and customers are advised to grab it and update as soon as possible.

Windows Phone Mango, the new flavor of Microsoft's mobile operating system that should arrive in about two weeks, brings along a wide range of enhancements when compared to the vorige version of the platform, some of which were included in the new Internet Explorer Mobile.
