I think he would have lived, they could have taken turns though, it keeps the body moveing and warms them up, the meer movement they do the better off they are
Leave poor Rose alone. Could he have lived......possibly. u think she jumped back on the ship to see Jack die. NO!! She did it cause she loves him. I mean did Rose make the burg hit the ship. If u want the truth they both could've lived. Yup, sure could've, but the movie wouldn't have been the same. He new he was gonna die when she was on the wood and he wasn't. Rose didn't know, of I guarantee she would've let him on. They truly do love each other, and Rose didn't kill him.
No, and it's not Rose's fault. She didn't know that if Jack stayed in the water that he would die. James Cameron even zei himself that she wouldn't have that kind of knowledge. Plus, Jack had already gegeven up on getting on the board with her at that point. He decided that there wasn't room enough for both of them. I don't understand why everyone is so quick to blame Rose, she had nothing to do with Jack's choice. Also, to talk about the "They could have taken turns" idea, that likely would have killed them both. It doesn't take long for hypothermia to set in, and with them going back and forth, dipping themselves in the water, it wouldn't have gegeven them much relief from the cold. They would still be soaked during the short time they were out of the water, only to get back in minuten later when their turn was up. Jack probably could have found something else to use, but my thought is that he didn't want to leave Rose. He knew he was going to die, and he wanted to make sure that she survived.

u just got my best answer vote. Besides, if Jack had lived the story would've lost a lot of its power.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they try that in the movie? It wouldn't hold them both up. But I do think they could have taken turns sitting on the thing. That way they both would've have moments out of the water. Maybe he wouldn't have died then. Don't know.
Here are the reasaons i think he could have done to live.
1)Wear the jas that Rose was wearing and get on a boot with Rose(some men did get on boats) 2)Find something else to float on. 3)The Titanic should have noticed the iceberg a long time geleden if they actually had binoculars 4)Mr Ismay shouldn't have told the captain to go use all the engines(It would have saved them meer time)

those are pretty good especially the first I guess he could have passed as a girl with her jas on
that's all I ever thought. the way he tried to get on was all wrong so it started to tip. he needed to ease his way on and she needed to keep it balanced, the board looked sturdy enough for both. and with their body heat they would've been in good form. so yeah I wouldn't have gegeven up on my man so easy

That is what I think too! If he didn't pull on the side and slid on, he could of made it!
the problem was wen they 1st found the board they both tried 2 get on it but it started 2 sink so it wouldnt hav been able 2 hold them jack bein the gentlemen let rose go on i think he mightve known that he would die so he let rose on it plus hes not selfish
That's true, I don't think Rose knew that if she had then I think there would have been a totally different outcome with Jack and Rose that's for sure.
Well, maybe if Jack moved around a bit, u know, to like get his hart-, hart pumping, he could've lifted his body temperature up. I know I few people who survived doing this. of if Rose could've scooted over, Jack could've got on. It would've took some time, but it could work.
Jack AND Rose Both Have to Live to even Make this Movie Worth Watching. He gave up WAY to EASILY!! Rose could have scooted over. There was meer than enough Room. In reality there would Have Been Other Doors to Float ON!! But James Camron is a SADIST!!! And Killed Jack Just for FUN!! And had the NERVE TO HAVE HIM IN THE ENDING! If Jack Dies TITANIC IS THE WORST FILM EVER!!! Rose and Jack would Encourage each other to "Never Give Up We're Going to Go On!! Both of Us!!" Jack would Never Give Up he wouldn't just Stay in the Water! He Would Try to Make Room And Rose Would Too! Not just sit there.

"He gave up too easily"? The chance of living in 28* water can last from a few minuten to a quarter of an uur at the most.
It's been mathematically and scientifically proven that Jack and Rose both could NOT fit on that board. It would've sunk and the only chance of survival was if u had little to no exposure to the water.
Plus, that wouldn't be the point! "Titanic" is supposed to be hart-, hart wrenching and emotional.
