How would u discribe Katniss's personality? And which "side" do u prefer? (see backround information)

Katniss seems to have two sides to her personality. A caring, loving, nurturing side we see when she is with Prim of Peeta. Or, there's the violent, sort of defiant side we see in the arena and sometimes in the woods with Gale.
