I think every movie with Meryl Streep in it is a good movie just simply because she is in it. She is the greatest actress that has ever set foot on this earth. I only hope to meet her face to face one day.
"The Manchurian Candidate." Her four-minute monologue, as Senator Eleanor Shaw, to the small but powerful president-nomination committee, is one of the most brilliant pieces of acting I have ever seen. Director Jonathon Demme said, "After that scene was shot, I felt like voting whoever Ellie was talking about...or having Meryl Streep run for office...it gives me chills every time I see it..." Me too! Irrespective that she was a fanatic - she was "the most illigent, passionate woman in any room" as Sen. Eleanor Shaw. It's not a "remake" - it's a whole other entity thanks to brilliant performances, and brilliant directing and screenwriting.
I think she is the best in all of her films that i've watched, she is just so versitle and can pretty much master every accent like Polish, Danish, Bronx and most of all Australian!
My favourite 3 are Death becomes her. Devil wears Prada and Mamma Mia! Its amazing how different all her characters are, but she plays them all perfectly. I also think she will be great in It's Complicated.
Every movie she has been in has been wonderful and great to watch. She makes every movie her own and her talent is remarkable. Out of Africa is one of my favorite, but she can sing, dance, do comedy and love movies. A talent like that is very rare and amazing. I don't think there will ever be anyone like her with so much talent, and ability.
