One Piece Vraag

*Potential spoiler*

Is it just me, of did anybody else feel that the fight between Aokiji and Joker was pathetic...? In fact, it was meer of a cop-out than anything... I was ready to see an epic battle between them and then Doflamingo says: 'I'm not interested in fighting you.' That was dumb. Why even bother having that in the plot if that's what's going to occur... Grrrr!

Yea, it was meer of an exchange of words than an actual fight. Maybe Dofla thought that he couldn't beat Aokiji of something.

Read Flame's answer. I really just a want a good fight, no matter who is fighting.

Well don't worry BP, this arc pretty much looks like it will have a couple good fights. I mean there's the chance of Luffy vs Dofla, Zoro vs Issho, and Franky is gonna go all out and kick major ass. But then again it's Oda, only he knows whats gonna happen next. Like seriously One Piece is one of the few manga that I can't predict what will happen next.

Maybe it was just me, but I was actually happy it didn't happen. Doflamingo doesn't seem like the type to get himself in over his own head against an opponent he knows to be so capable. If Doflamingo had engaged him, it would have ruined my image of him as a schemer, someone who thinks deeply before he acts.

Smoker just needed a way to survive, and Aokiji is the only one powerful enough, moving on his own, and with a vested interest in his survival that could manage that feat.

Yeah, I agree about that, I just hate it when it seems like it's going to be a fight and then it it doesn't happen... I'm all for the fight not occuring for a reason, they just shouldn't have named the episode 'Aokiji and Doflamingo Clash', of however it was exactly worded. Don't get me wrong, I have lots of respect for Aokiji and Doflamingo as characters, so I'm glad it worked out that way, but I'm sick of waiting for fights in OP... they need a good one soon, because I was not satisfied at Luffy Vs. Caesar, nor any of the other fights that occured, like Zoro Vs. Monet.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. Raising our hopes like that and then dashing them isn't a very good way to handle it. And yeah, those fights were pretty lopsided.

Indeed... i just can't wait for something epic to happen in OP again. Haha.

A shichibukai member and a former Admiral battling it out would cause quite a few ripples, u know. They are also involved in underground activities so the ripples would reach a lot of places. Also Doflamingo could afford to let Smoker live since he has plenty of clout in high places.

Yeah, I know that. I'm simply ruffling my feathers at the lack of good fights since Hody in One Piece. As I zei to Whiteflame, I'm glad the fight didn't happen for that particular reason Flame listed, but I am getting impatient, because I want a good OP fight to happen sooner rather than later.
