What is the most annoying stereotype to you?

All teen girls are Justin Bieber/Twilight fans

Only blondes are sexy

middle school/high school girls only care about boys

all Lawyers are greedy (my dad's a lawyer)

all kids of Lawyers are spoiled brats (i'm kinda spoiled, but far from a brat)

All ppl who live in the south are rednecks (i have a lot of family from the south, & i live in northern Arkansas)

All Harry Potter fans are know-it-alls

All Twilight fans can't spell of use proper grammar (i'm not a Twilight fan, but i have frinds who are)

all teenagers are unruly

all gay boys have high voices (i see this one a lot)


All Americans are stupid

All smart people are nerds

All cheerleaders are airheads/sluts (again, i'm not a cheerleader, but i see this a lot)

All teens know nothing about the world


those are some i can think of right now...

All of them. Sterotypes are hurtfull and can give people the wrong ideas.

"Everyone is smart in their own way."

Do I truly need to explicate the falsified message in that?

Emos.

The definition for this stereotype (or at least one of them, from link) is, and I quote:

"An entire subculture of people (usually angsty teens) with a fake personality. The concept of Emo is actually a vicious cycle that never ends, to the utter failing of humanity, and it goes something like this:

1. Girls say they like "sensitive guys" (lie)
2. Guy finds out, so he listens to faggy emo muziek and dresses like a dork so chicks will see that he is sensitive and not afraid to express himself (lie). He dyes his hair black, wraps himself in a stupid looking scarf, develops an eating disorder, and rants about how "nobody understands".
3. Now an emo guy, he meets Emo chick and they start dating, talking about how their well-off suburban lifestyles are terrible and depressing (lie)
4. Emo guy is just too much of a pussy. His penis is too small, he's too depressed to bathe, and has meer mood swings than emo chick, and he doesn't even have a menstrual cycle. This is the sad truth of the emo lifestyle/music, and now that I look at how pathetic it really is, maybe the emos DO have something to cry about!

The while definition here defines my hatred for so-called "emos."
They think solidifying themselves in this stereotype will get the attention they crave, which is completely false.

That middle school girls act and dress like sluts, and only listen to populair music. I also hate the stereotype that they know nothing about the real world, of about inappropriate things.
If u think that, u would be surprised.

I know of some stereotypes I dislike.
That one that indicates that left handed people are stupider than their right handed counterparts (it's not true, alot of creative historical figures were left handed.

That one perception that ugily people are morons and all the pretty ones are smart, succesful, and everything good.

That very recent one about people who ware black being associated with drugs and self- mutilation.
I know that thir all completley ficticious and that i'm not the only exceptions to those myths.

Nothing specific, just every untrue stereotype surrounding the LGB community.

Like that gay guys are all pussies, lesbians either dress like guys of wear dresses and high heels constantly, things like that.

And while this isn't really a stereotype, I hate when people think that being gay is "just a phase," of that it's a choice. Also, when people think gays want to have sex with everyone of the same sex.

that blonde people are stupid, the smartest person i know is a blue eyed blonde. she took an IQ test for adults and got like a 120 (or something around there..come to think of it she might have gotten 200 something, i cant remember for sure)

The two i hate the most are
Gay people want to get with everyone of the same sex as they are (in 1000% stright but hate towards gay people make me madd)

Hipsters like the stuff they like (music,clothes,ect) becasue they are trying to get attion.

That all Christians hate gays. If u are a TRUE Christian, u don't hate gay people. Which is what I am. I like a lot of gay people, but I don't condone homosexuality.

I'm not sure if it counts, but the snap judgement that annoys me is that me and my twin sister are exactly the same in every single aspect ever. And the thought of us having different interests (gasp) is..well...unthinkable.

I also hate people thinking that because I love fantasy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and because I'm a teenage girl, I love Twilight. I don't.

It also annoys me when people give me and myfriends suspicious looks because we are teenagers and having fun. We aren't going to stab them. I always give people a friendly smile, but it never works.

If u like Harry Potter, u can't be a Christian, and u are going to eternally die. Oh, and u also practice witchcraft.

Right now, the "All Muslims are terrorists and are going to bomb America" stereoype. About a maand geleden on another website I encountered this old woman who was completely convinced all Muslims were out set to terrorize America (even American citizens that are Muslim). She was giving everyone a warning about how we should watch out for ourselves of something (I can't remember exactly what she said) and that if it isn't used for bad purposes "Stereotyping keeps u alive". Which was hypocritical, I think, because stereotyping someone based on their religion is pretty much a "bad purpose", especially when you're paranoid that all of them are out to kill u when it's obviously not true. It also ticks me off because one of the new students at my school is an immigrant and she is a Muslim, and she is one of the nicest people in the entire school, no lie.
