What's your opinion on the "no women drivers" law in Saudi Arabia?

Due to the puritanical muslim view of how they understand and conceive things that is why they have made that law. Do I believe it's the right thing to do? No. Saudi Arabians have had a lot of their unfair customs for years. So it's common place for them.

I wrote a whole essay on that in Social Studies, and I'm not going to type it out again. Basically, I think it sucks arse too.

I have never heard of this law,but it doesn't surprise me.These societies are incredibly sadist and sexist to women and this law is just the tip of the iceberg.I had once seen at a website the picture of an 18-year-old girl from an arabic country I think whose husband had cut her ears and nose!Women there are treated not as humans,but worse than animals.So,knowing the abuse they suffer this ban is not surprising at all.

I'm a man and no the law is not fair. It is sad that in some Muslim countries, women are treated as property and not people. There are some Muslim countries where women have earned some basic rights, but the process of change is long, hard and dangerous for females.
I know the US has tried to talk to other countries about human rights, but that's about all they can do.

Well, First of all, NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE BAD! If some Muslim men do harm their wives then thats wrong, its not accepted in Islam and its not only Muslim men. Other people from other religions do things like that, I guess it has to be a part of human nature.
The seconde thing is, yes that's very wrong to put up a law like that. There is suppose to be no such thing as 'male dominance' in Islam. Male and Females are to have equal rights! Treated equally and with respect...

i find it shit. the men there should get over themselves and realize that women, as much as they like it of not, are actually people and are not even half as dumb as they think they are.

When I saw this, I was surprised. Not very happy. I know that some do this probably because of there religion of area that they are in, but seriously shouldn't give that right to treat women like they aren't even humans, and worse then animals. We are people too. I honestly have nothing agrest other countries, but I do think its wrong when they don't treat their people right like that.

I just felt like saying that I know a guy, off of fanpop who lives in Saudi Arabia, I used to talk to him all the time, after school.. He was very sweet and nice to me and he could easly talk in english with no problem. When I told him stories about my dag and if it involoved a guy-friend he would get jealous. In the past. He even got jealous cause I liked Justin Bieber..ANYWAYS THATS NOT MY POINT! MY POINT IS: I came home pagina from school one day, after a lesson and I told him that I wanted to stand up for Womans Rights, and guess what he asked me.."What do u mean? Whats womans rights? I don't understand"

I dunno why I zei that, I guess seeing this vraag and knowing him made me wanna bring that up.

Hosnely, I find it a bit dumb...
If I lived in a place that girls could only bake and stay home. I would be dead door the cops door now. I would be playing my bass, singing MCR and Green dag songs at the top, boven of my lungs. Having friends, drinking and driving! (Not at the same time thought)
