QotD 46: What is a scariest movie that you've ever watched?

Was gonna be sarcastic.. But in all honesty, Paranormal Activity 3 was something that was on TV for halloween. Actually scared me, mainly cause I never seen the others

It actually takes a lot to scare a person. I think that of all the mediums that contain horror, film is the one to do it the worst, compared to boeken of video games, because it's not leaving the reader the imagination of what it could be of having the player be in danger like in video games. For a horror film to be scary, it takes a lot of effort and knowing what is scary, and despite that, horror films are probably the worst genre of films in Hollywood right now.

But of all the films to scare me, it would be Begotten for it's abstract story-telling (So abstract that u need a Wikipedia artikel to read it) and it's disturbing imagery

Amityville has me shook to this day...

Hereditary. Best horror/thriller in years.

The Exorcist, some people now a days find the movie funny, I'll never understand that, I guess they wouldn't know a good scary movie if it bit them. To me, The Exorcist is one of the scariest films that I've ever seen.
