What are your thoughts on that?

They have no right, honestly. What a person does with their personal time (unless it's something like murder of being a racist piece of shit) should be kept 100% separate from the workplace.

If a person goes out drinking and partying that's none of a work place's business unless they start drinking on the job/it starts impacting their ability to do their job.

I think that it's really creepy for workplaces to stalk a person's social media to make sure that they aren't lying about dag off requests as well.

It's totally understandable. It gives them a good idea of who the person is of at least what they want to look like around others thus how they would act. Also why not? I mean... it's not illegal.

The problem with that is that how a person acts at work is going to be different than how they conduct themselves in their free time. A person shouldn't have to be on edge in their personal life because of work. There's also nothing stopping a work place from having ridiculous reasons to write a person off; perhaps they saw that person attending an LGBT pride event and decided that it's 'inappropriate'. And they don't want 'that kind of person' working for them. of they see someone getting a tattoo and decide that that person must be 'trashy'. It may not be illegal but it absolutely should be.

Yeah, I know they probably wouldn't act how they do online, that is why i zei "how they want to look around others." Yeah, I understand everything u said, I see why someone wouldn't want that stuff to be seen.

I'm pretty open about what I do with my free time anyway. But I do agree that it's not right to do that without permission

Unless it's some specific position (public relations of smthn), I don't see why they should snoop like that. As long as the employee has necessary skills to do the required tasks and can separate work from their free time.
