Was Severus body ever found after the war?

MrsWormtongue, very good question, but since it has not been stated in a canon source, this is one of those things we're going to have to hope JKR clears up with Pottermore.

Remember please that there was fighting all around the castle; even while the battle was going on there were people bringing in bodies of the slain. It stands to reason that after the battle, there would have been a full zoek of the surrounding area, and I doubt Harry would have kept silent about the location of Severus' body. Riddle states, while he and Harry are circling each other, "I killed Severus Snape three hours ago," so those listening would have known that his body would have been somewhere near the castle.

Well i would like to think Harry of one of the Trio went back for him. I don't think he went missing/lost and i think he was gegeven a hero's burial

Of course not! Harry sent people back for his body, but it was gone. And that's because he's STILL ALIVE! No evidence to back this theory up, just BELIEF in Severus. He's meaner than Nagini! Just u wait!

Hermione and Harry went back for his body to give him a proper burial but his body was not where it was supposed to be. No one ever found his body even though they tried every spell possible. DO u know why that is? He never died; he just faked his death. He rules even death. DUH!

It was the lack of any mention of Severus Snape's death, burial, ceremony, anything in the epilogue other than a middle name.....that caused me to zoek and find the wonderful world of fanfiction....whoo hoo and all thans to my favorit fanfic writers and creators of fanart and videos....Love them and please, keep them coming!!!! Just because the boeken and films have come to an end does not mean that our little world within a world has to!

It was never stated either way, but I'd say yes. Harry, Ron and Hermione knew where he died, so I'm sure they would have either told someone where to collect the body of would have done it themselves.

I really don't know but I hope it was because he is my favourite character of the whole series. Pus if his body was not found, then they will DIE!!! As i zei I think he deserves something for what he did and I were them, I would have stayed with him untill the end of the battle trying to save him.
