Meeting Dannie The Chinchilla. (Question in details)

Okay. So what if your character was walking down a city straat and just so happen to hear something down an alleyway that sounded like a female laughing slightly. What would he/she do? Would your character try to explorer the noise of try and avoid it. (Which probably wouldn't do any good. But it may be meer interesting if they ran. X'D)
