Torchwood Vraag

Help...I'm new to the series and I can't understand something.

It might be silly... but when I was watching part of the toon online the episode zei doctor who. I later figured out that doctor who is a spin off. I wanted to get torchwood but do I I have to get doctor who too? I think it was the episode when Jack came back of left of both. I forgot now but it was an important part of the story I was watching at the time. Sorry I know it sounds like a really stupid question. complimenten will be gegeven to anyone who can give me this info.

u can watch one series without watching the other and still understand it. But I'd still recommend u watch a few episodes of Dr Who too, just to see if u like it.
