Wright and Co. Law Offices
“Okay, Annelise, just breathe. In and out,” I assured myself. I gripped hold of my schooltas, satchel tightly as I stared at the opaque window in the door. I was only a tinge nervous, because this wasn't any door- this was the door to the office of the famous defense attorney, Phoenix Wright. I had to build up the courage to speak with him. My sister was on the line...
I inhaled the biggest breath I could muster, and as I was turning the handle...
“Hey, are u okay? Wake up,” a man's voice spoke. I could swear, I heard it three times before I had a sense of the present situation. I finally came to groggily, my nose in extreme pain and my head pounding. My eyesight was still pretty blurry.
“Oh, you're awake!” a girl's voice emanated from the office. “I'm so sorry I slammed into you, I didn't mean to...”
“Ugh.... where am I...?” I asked, the man helping me up from the hallway floor.
“Wright and Co. Law Offices,” he answered firmly. As my eyesight wavered, I caught something shiny pinned to the suit this man was wearing. I blinked quickly a few times, and my eyes adjusted. His hair was spiked back, and his tie was sort of crooked.
“I'm Phoenix Wright, attorney at law. And u are?”
----------------
“So, your name is Annelise Castel. u need me to defend your sister...” he stated, wanting me to continue.
“Lorelei Castel. My sister is an up and coming singer,” I responded, taking a sip of the thee they'd served me.
“Really? I've never heard of her,” the girl who smacked my face with the door commented.
“Maya.” Phoenix scolded in a sense. He then glanced back to me. “Up and coming?”
I nodded. “Yes. She had just gotten a record label to sign a contract with her. She and her partner, Kira Merand, were the greatest duet! I'd never heard anyone better than those two!”
“So? How does this make a case?” Maya questioned me irritably.
I felt a sudden surge of shame overcome me. My eyes hit the floor as I spoke. “Well, yesterday, there was someone found inside a studio recording booth. She was found dead on the scene, multiple gunshots wounds in her stomach and one in her neck.”
“What was the victim's name?” he asked me curiously.
I bit my lip until it began to bleed a little. “The victim... was Kira Merand.”
“What? Really?” he stated with surprise. I nodded sullenly, and reached into my satchel, pulling out a picture of my sister and Kira. I pointed her out- long red locks, a freckle spotted face, glistening green eyes...
“Everyone suspects my sister. They believe her motive was to have whatever spotlight they were going to share to herself. That, and she was the only other person to enter the booth that day, as far as we know...” I explained.
“That... sounds pretty conclusive, for such little information,” Phoenix admitted.
“Please, Mr. Wright! u have to take my sister's case! She's not greedy! I know she's innocent!” I pleaded, jolting up urgently. My expression must have been something, enough to quiet Mr. Wright. He paused in thought, then stood up as well, standing over me door a foot at least.
“Of course I'll take your case,” he agreed.
“Th-thank you, so much!” I stuttered. “Lorelei is in detention, of course.”
“Well, Nick? Don't just stand there, come on!” Maya rushed, dragging him along out of the office.
“Is she always like this?” I wondered before trailing behind them.

Detention Center
I found myself becoming extremely uneasy around the Detention Center guards. Each time we passed one, I attempted to hide behind my blonde waves. I was failing, because I felt dagger glares hitting me.
I walked into the Visitor's Room, staring at my feet the whole time. My hart-, hart was constantly skipping beats. I was starting to panic, when Maya set her hands on my shoulders.
“It's gonna be okay, calm down,” she whispered. I exhaled deeply, doing my best to relax for her worries' sake.
The ingress of the room suddenly was occupied door Lorelei. I tensed, and gazed downward once more.
“Hello, Miss Castel,” Phoenix greeted, tonen her his badge.
“Why would I have any interest in that thing?” she snapped, glaring at Phoenix.
“Miss Castel, I have to ask door obligation- did u of did u not murder Miss Merand?” Phoenix interrogated, his expression hard and serious.
“I killed no one. I don't see why it's so hard to convince u all of that,” Lorelei spoke smoothly, brushing aside her deep brown bangs.
“What's your alibi then?” Maya inquired.
“Well, it was sometime last night. I had been recording my solo parts of a song we had been cooperating on. At the time, I was in Studio Three, on the West Wing of the studio lot. I went to go find Kira, who had been practicing in Studio Five, on the other side of the lot, in the East Wing. Most of the staff had gone home, so no one else was in Studio Five at the time. I went back to the sound booth I knew she had been. All I could see from the window was a huge blood spatter on the wall. I dashed into the booth, and found Kira dead on the scene. Just then, a security cop making his final rounds for the night, discovered me alone with Kira's body, and turned me in immediately.”
“Hm... well, we should go investigate the crime scene, if I am to serve as your attorney,” Phoenix noted.
“I'll allow u to do so. It obviously puts my sister meer at ease,” she mentioned. I jumped from my zitplaats, stoel on instinct, and on a whim.
“I know u didn't do anything wrong! I just wanted the best for you, Lorelei,” I shouted, quieting soon after.
“I know, Annelise. Thank you,” she acknowledged.
Phoenix rose from where he sat. “We'll be seeing u then, Miss Castel.”
“Good luck, Wright, you're going to need it to get me out of this mess.” Lorelei finalized.
As Maya grabbed my hand and pulled me away from Lorelei, the look on Lorelei's face zei she'd gegeven up, but refused to lose.
“Hang in there...” I muttered as I lost sight of her.

Empasse Records Studio Lot
“This is it?” Phoenix queried. I scoped quickly, seeing staff moving all across the lot. A huge crowd had gathered around Studio Five. I hung my head a bit lower.
“Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this, I promise,” he tried to convince me.
“Hey, pal!” a heard a deep voice boom. I jumped a little bit as a larger man seemed to appear from nowhere in front of us three.
“Hey, Detective Gumshoe!” Phoenix greeted. “How is the investigation coming along?”
“Well... to tell the truth, we can't figure out how it's not Castel who's guilty. Her fingerprints are on the scene and everything,” Gumshoe admitted. I was taken aback, and sunk as low as I could go.
“But there has to be something that proves it's not her!” I shouted, clinging to Lorelei's innocence.
“May we study the scene, Detective?” Phoenix asked, glancing over at the group of detectives huddled around Studio Five.
“Eh, why not. Here's the autopsy report. We're mostly done there, so...” Gumshoe allowed, handing Phoenix the file.
“You're not going in there while I'm on watch!” a male security guard yelled out, approaching us angrily.
“None of u are detectives, are you?” the guard interrogated, eying the three of us.
“No, but I am an attorney. I have the right to see the scene of the crime,” Phoenix retorted.
“Oh. My mistake. Carry on,” the guard complied after examining Phoenix's badge further.
Maya and I tried to tag along with him, but the guard held out his arm and blocked our passage.
“No u don't.”
“What are u doing?” Phoenix asked, somewhat urgently, if that be the case.
“You zei u were an attorney. These two obviously aren't,” he argued.
“But-”
“Let them go through,” another voice to the side of me exacted. Maya reacted quicker than I did.
“Mr. Edgeworth?!” Maya exclaimed in surprise. I glanced in the direction of the new voice, as if it weren't something I was now used to. The man seemed professional, but also arrogant at the same time. I caught a vague glimpse of a badge on his chest, but I couldn't see it clearly. It looked different from that of Phoenix.
“Y-yes, of course,” the guard complied once again, pulling back his arm. I stood volgende to Phoenix nervously.
“Why did you-” Phoenix began when he was suddenly interrupted.
“I did for my own reasons. Now, I suggest u get going on whatever you're here to do. The detectives are not in the best of moods.” Edgeworth replied, taking his leave quickly after.
“Who...was he?” I thought aloud.
“That was Edgeworth. He's a Prosecutor... and an... old acquaintance of mine, I guess. Considering he's here... he must be the prosecutor on this case,” he confirmed, obviously now deep in thought.
“Why won't he tell me about him and Edgeworth...” Maya mumbled almost inaudibly, but she was standing close enough for me to still make out her words.
“Oh... I-I see.” I mumbled, turning back to the way Edgeworth had gone. He was already out of sight.
“Well, we best get down to the scene now. We need as much evidence as we can get,” Phoenix suggested. I followed behind him towards Studio Five like a lost child, and Maya seemed... jealous, of something I couldn't describe.
