Gingerleaf lay outside the nursery, her belly swollen with unborn kits. Her mate had died only three moons ago but she didnt like to talk about him much, a ran away from those who did, afraid of her own feelings and sensitivity towards the subject of her dead mate.
Lilyfrost and her brother Deerprint were outside the camp, challenging each other in a mock fight, preparing for any unexpected battles that lay ahead. Watching them were two others warriors, Turtleblossom and Ripplepelt. In camp, an apprentice wandered about boredly. Her pelt shone in the light and her eyes were dim with lonliness. Her shy nature, unexplainable beauty and quiet ways were attractive but she didnt admit it. Rainpaw stopped padding about, and leaped to a tree stump, her head resting neatly on her paws.
