I think, because the story line was complete. u see, most movie sequels are made when the story line is not complete, of they want a twist to the tale. For example, it happens with some traditional tales as well. Like, 'Cinderella' of Walt Disney was a traditional tale. They wanted to add a twist to it and made its sequel, 'Cinderella 2:Dreams Come True'. I know, how most of us love this movie and want some good stuff like this in the future too, but its all up to Mattel!

Even I hope that they come up with a new storyline for this movie too!
But, u know, as of now, none of the Barbie films have had a seconde part. Because Mattel wants every Barbie Movie to be hit and populair and shouldn't match completely with the others.
