Cube Entertainment intends to withhold revenues made through B2ST\'s trademark from the members?
Through a recent post shared on an online platform, B2uty seem to be engaged in a heated discussion over a new discovery regarding B2ST\'s trademark registration.
Cube Entertainment has just now registered the name B2ST as a commodity, or a marketable product, in 3 areas - music albums, advertisements, and artist performances. According to the evidence shared by the fan, the registration for B2ST\'s name as a commodity lasts from 2015-2016 through 2026.
Fans claim that in the case that B2ST decide not the renew their contracts with Cube Entertainment, due to the registration mentioned above, the B2ST members themselves will not be able to receive any of the revenues made in album sales, advertisements, or performance earnings, other than from songs personally composed. Furthermore, fans suspect that B2ST will not be able to use the group\'s name outside of Cube Entertainment, including performing songs recorded as the artist B2ST.
Aside from the fact that B2ST may not be able to receive proper payment for the revenues they\'ve acquired for the label if they decide not to stay, fans demand to know why the name has been registered now, when B2ST debuted in 2009.
Other netizens noticed that a similar situation occurred in the case of 4minute, whose name was registered as a commodity in January of 2015.

Hyuna... She should have left the company. Sure, Cube treat her VERY well and her decision is understandable, but that company is falling FAST. Everything that comes from Cube lately is at the hands of the selfish and greedy investors that only care about money and not about the artists and know fuck all about music. They have literally attempted to block Beast from leaving the company, and if they do, it will come at a VERY heavy price for them... Well, if Shinhwa and do it, so can Beast. I\'m hoping they don\'t renew and go elsewhere, compose new songs (and change their name of course) and give a huge "fuck you" to the vultures that are now running Cube. I can only hope that Hyuna eventually leaves too!
Yes folks, I read such thing last week and it made my blood boil because of what cube did.. They are so desperate to keep BEAST at all cost because they if BEAST leave this bxxx!/"@$ company will not survive. Let\'s face it! Hyuna and BTOB aren\'t enough to sustain CUBE u know.
I think shinhwa had to wait years to finally comeback as Shinhwa xD
Ohhh i I guess we\'ll just have to wait a decade to see beast return once they leave cube ...
It is same with sm.. sm registered the properties of girls\' generation and snsd name long time ago.. they did the same with tvxq, super junior and shinee..
Misleading title. Cube has every right to trademark the name and continue to make earnings from it. They are also only entitled to pay revenue to the members as long as there is a valid contract that states they should do that. This is how corporate music works the world over, if the members wanted to break away as a group, they should\'ve considered this issue before hand. Because I believe they didn\'t come up with the name, the only way they will be able to continue to use it is if they license or buy it from Cube.
Damn, they totally got SHINHWA\'d. Cube is so low for doing this. B2ST need to get the hell out of there, lawyer up, and sue for the rights to their name.
