When u watch the meer serious films, Freddy Krueger IS something that can be considered actually scary.
First off, dreams are suppose to be a veilig place.
And what makes the orginal so scary, is the fact that the dream sequences themselves look and feel so spooky.
Something the remake ALSO fails at.
Freddy dosen't just suddenly appear, like in the remake.
He quietly calls out your name, he makes u feel uneasy.
And than when he dose appear in the original, most times we see him like this..
Yeah, he's in the shadows. He's mysterious.
In fact, Freddy can be compared to Steven King's IT.
He knows exactly what frightens u most, and instead of just doing lazy jump scares (Michael Bay), he instead uses his dream magic to make that zei fear appear wait in-front of you, and THAN do his jump scare..
Though I do give it SOME credit. The remake KINDA did the shadowy thing.
But Freddy just jumps straight to killing you. That's not Freddy.
He could of easily killed Tina in the beginning.. But he didn't, he left her traumatized, so that when he later dose kill her, it's far meer effective.
Plus, even than, he still toys with her.
Appearing out of random places while chasing her, when he could of easily killed her straight away.
I'm not saying the remake is bad..
No wait.. Yes, I am.. It's FUCKING AWFUL!
They kept the mystery of Freddy, sure.
But what's the point of keeping him mysterious. If doing so doesn't make u feel uneasy.
We had no idea who this was, what he wanted, and why he was after us.. All we heard was that creepy laugh of his.
In fact, Robert Englund has very little lines in the orginal. He just laughs most of the time.
So.. Yeah.. I'm frggin pissed.
Even when Freddy became meer silly in the later sequels. Even that is actually pretty scary.
Think about it.. He's ENJOYING this, his much meer do u need in order to say "Well, I'm fucked"..
So.. Yeah.. Fuck u Micheal Bay!
Not too mention.. In the 1984 version. They never try to make us feel BAD for Freddy being killed.
We knew striaght away, that Freddy deserved EVERYTHING the parents did to him.
