Damon and Elena were lying on the bed, Elena’s head resting on Damon’s chest. “I believe we’ve been here before” Elena mumbled.
“Hmm” Damon confirmed. “Do u remember what u zei back then?”
Elena relegated on the bed and closed her eyes. “I zei I wouldn’t leave you, that I would stay with u until the very end”
“You should know that no matter what happens I’m not leaving you” Damon promised softly. Elena felt a teardrop on her head, but she didn’t look up. “Promise me u won’t either”
“I promise” Elena whispered and she pinched Damon’s hand. She knew it was a lie. She knew that no matter how much medication she was taking, the cancer had already won. She could literally feel her body shutting down. Though doctor Meredith Fell really did the best she could, they had just been too late. They should’ve never listened to Bonnie.
“We still have options” Damon zei hoarse. “If I give u some of my blood…”
“We’ve been through that, Damon” Elena replied, but there was no anger in her voice. “I’m not drinking your blood”
“But u could heal” Damon protested.
“According to Caroline vampire blood only heals injuries, no diseases” Elena commented.
“It’s worth a shot” Damon tried to convince her.
“No, it’s not. I won’t risk becoming a vampire” Elena refused.
Damon sat up and looked angry at his sick girlfriend. “But u will risk dying?”
“Maybe it’s just my time” Elena suggested casual.
“You’re eighteen, for crying out loud!” Damon exclaimed. He got off the bed. “You’re selfish, do u know that? I know it must be hard to hear this from me, the most selfish person on the planet, but right now you’re selfish. u have a fair chance to conquer this. Your brother needs you, your vrienden need you…I need you. All it takes is for u to accept my blood, but you’d rather die. Why is that, exactly?”
Elena had started crying during Damon’s outburst. The medication made her extra emotional.
“Is it so hard for u to understand I don’t want to be a vampire? That maybe one dag I want to have a family, grow old with the man I love?”
“None of those things is going to happen, if you’re dead, Elena!” Damon snarled. “And actually how were u planning to have a family? I can’t make babies! Are u going to hump into bed with Matt so he can loan u his seed?”
Elena slapped him hard in the face.
“I’m not drinking your blood, Damon” she replied soft, but determined.
“Fine” Damon grunted and he walked towards the door. “I’ll go find myself a stake. If u can’t see a reason to live, then I can’t either. I’m not spending an eternity without you”

Title: To Helen [Poem of Youth]
Author: Edgar Allan Poe [More Titles door Poe]
HELEN, thy beauty is to me
Like those Nicean barks of yore,
That gently, o'er a perfumed sea,
The weary way-worn wanderer bore
To his own native shore.
On desperate seas long wont to roam,
Thy hyacinth hair, thy classic face,
Thy Naiad airs have brought me home
To the glory that was Greece,
And the grandeur that was Rome.
Lo ! in yon brilliant window-niche
How statue-like I me thee stand,
The agate lamp within thy hand!
Ah, Psyche, from the regions which
Are Holy-land !
-THE END-

Ok so I was just randomly listening to the 2 songs off the TVD soundtrack from episode 1x01 and 3x19...and I noticed something that blew my mind. I just thought I'd share it. We all know how influential the muziek can be as far as foreshadowing goes. This analysis just furthers my belief that Delena were meant to be all along and from the very beginning.
So when Elena is going to the cemetery in the very first episode of season 1, unbeknownst to her, Damon is hiding in the fog watching her. While this is going on, the song in the background (Say All I Need door One Republic) has lyrics that go "All I need is the air I breathe, and a place to rest my head."
In season 3 episode 19, Damon and Elena finally kiss passionately. The accompanying song (Never Let Me Go door Florence and The Machine) has a verse that says "I found the place to rest my head."
I see what u did there TVD crew :-)
