Kind of... I think there are some traits of her that don't match the rest of the princesses in the lineup (i.e: lack of song, lack of love interest) but I guess it's ok to have a different kind of princess. I would've been happier without all the controversy that arose from her redesign. I think that was totally blown out of proportion.
I don't really mind that she is Pixar, after all Pixar is a part of the Walt Disney Company now and this might even help make the bond between them stronger.
Is she my favorite princess? No, not at all, but I'm ok with her being part of the group.
I am not because Pixar and WDAS are two different companies with two different reputations, and types of storytelling. I think she is too different from the others in every aspect, but I have come to accept it, and there is nothing we can do regardless.
:'( Merida gets so much hate. I for one like her as a princess, and I think the fact that she is different from the others adds diversity to the lineup.
I agree with you. I hate that she became an official DP. I still don´t think of her as DP and I know that I will be to hard for me to accept her. It will have to pass a lot of time before I get used to the idea. I still think that they should have made a line for Pixar princesses like they made one for the fairies.
She could have been the start of a great Heroines line, but Disney just loves the pink+glitter
To those who think that everyone who votes for no here, doesn´t like Merida -
That´s not the case. Many of us do like or love her, we just don´t think, that she fits in, doesn´t belong in the line or are against it for other reasons. It´s a bit stubborn to always say that the people who don´t like her as a DP, hate her.
Even though I haven't seen Brave yet. But I have to agree with everyone who thinks a Pixar character shouldn't be in the Disney Princess line-up. I would rather they had started a heroine franchise, even if they decided to move Pocahontas and Mulan over to that - they would at least get more attention in a line-up like that, where everything isn't all about glitter and tea parties...
