Hopefully so. Is it wrong to be this excited for a movie that's coming out in 4 years? :D
Oh, and these concept drawings are just stunning.

^Oh, my goodness, I'm excited, too!
I REEEEEALLY hope it has a classic, not modern feeling to it.

They added Rapunzel, the first CGI princess; they added Merida, the first Pixar princess; and they're going to add Anna and Elsa, the first princess duo (not to mention Elsa being the first queen to be added). I won't be surprised if Moana gets added too.

Hopefully and maybe they'll take off some extra's *cough* Anna and Elsa *cough* what did you hear anything? I didn't! I'm tired of CGI princess! I heard they MIGHT make it 2D ...if she turns out CGI I'm going to cry for the future of the world.

^^ Well, I don't know how reliable a source wikipedia is, but if it's correct...Moana's going to be a CG film. (Sorry for the disappointment.) But on the upside, Disney's CG lately has looked nothing but amazing, and I'd only expect Moana to look amazing too.

you never know

It really depends on how successful the movie was
and how well lucrative they are to Disney's Marketing
(Pocahontas, Mulan and Merida barley wedged in there; sure POTF was not that successful, but that movie solely existed for a marketable princess)

Remember how Megara married into royalty and never became a princess. That was because her hips don't lie, and because that movie is generally looked upon by the Disney company as a disappointment and FAR from one of the more well loved ones at that.

So you never know.

Unless her movie bombs, I don't think they're going to skip out on this marketing opportunity.

^ She's going to be the main character in Disney's Moana, which is set to come out in 2018. It's still a long time before it'll come out.

coolsinger: They might go with the "chief's daughter" cliche to make her a priness. I can't say I'd like it because EVERY native or tribal woman from virtually all fiction is a chief's daughter. It's sort of justified for Pocahontas since she was one of Powhaton's many children historically, and I adore Peter Pan's Tiger Lily... but enough is enough.

I'd like to see an average, everyday woman from a sort of tribal society for once, instead of a chief's daughter every time.

But then Disney couldn't merchandise the heck out of her if they didn't make her a princess of some sort, so I doubt we'll be so lucky.
