That's the whole point, she can't. By the time she got there on foot the ball would be over, plus there is no way they'd let someone with rags on inside. So, no she wouldn't have. It's not a matter of "Do I think she could've?" It's that she couldn't have.
^agreed. that's why it's so dumb when people act like she sits around doing nothing about it. there's nothing she COULD do about it without outside help.
No, but I don't particulary agree that she had given one. There was nothing she could do: her dress was in tatters, beyond quick repair, and it would take hours to arrive to the palace by walking. Not to mention that her stepmother made it clear that, despite their bargain, she wasn't really allowed to go. If Lady Tremained or one of her daughters spotted Cinderella there, they would kick her out of the house or make a scandal in the middle of the ball without ruining their reputations.
Maybe if she were the Cinderella from the 3 movie that acts more like a renaissance princess instead of a classic one, the Cinderella from the 3 movie looks more determined to get what she wants and maybe she would had gone to the ball either way just figuring something out but when I look at the classic Cinderella, the original Cinderella I don't see her doing that. Is not that she can't I just don't think she will but when I look at the one from the 3 movie that one could, definitely.
She and the mice threw all their resources into a single dress, which her stepsisters destroyed. How was she going to get there when she was completely demoralized, had no other nice dresses to work with, AND had no coach to get there?
Even if she had "picked herself up by the bootstraps" and made another dress, it's highly unlikely she would have found a coach and gotten herself there before the ball was over.
I agree with what everyone else said. At that point, she was kind of in despair mode knowing there was literally no way she can get to the ball. Yes, she gave up, because there was absolutely NOTHING she could have done about her situation. I hate when people say she gave up to fast and waits for her dreams to come running to her. Honestly, what could she have done about her situation? She could try running to the castle, and it would have took way too long. Even if she did get there on time, she had nothing suitable to wear and they wouldn't have let her in. Heck, even if they did she is not going to want to humiliate herself coming to a formal event wearing rags.
