I do think it would be interesting, but it's too young. I'm not fully sure though. I'll just put no preference then.

Wouldn't she be considered one of the, "young heroines"? I guess it could be old enough, if she was 12 or 13, but not 7 or 8.

I always thought it would make more sense to target little girls with characters who are around the same age as them, they go through similar struggles and are easier to relate, thus making them more effective role models.

I don't really care for people who are under 14 tbh owo Even as a kid, I always prefered young adults and such.

Nah, I prefer to see them as Disney Preteen Heroines such as Lilo, Eilonwy, Wendy, Alice, etc.

scarletunicorn: Thank you so much for saying what I was thinking in better words than I could have.

For all those who say "no" because it would put them in heroine status: But WHY?

Why do Disney Princesses HAVE to be sexually mature and desirable teenagers with "they're both old enough to pork" love interests (sorry to be blunt, but it's true) while princesses who are young are automatically demoted to mere heroine status? Who made this rule? Why do we have to enforce it? What's wrong with allowing younger princesses who are actually within the age bracket of their target audience to be part of the lineup? Or to at least be made at all even if they aren't going part of the lineup?

When did "Disney Princess" go from being a Disney character who happens to be a princess to only a strict, narrowly defined carboard cutout who has to fit strict criteria to add to this arbitrary lineup to sell merchandise?

I wanna know! I'm really, genuinely curious now.

I think snow white is the only dp that can pull off the young age princess especially considering her year of release.

As long as the don't slap a cliche to her (like being bratty, spoiled etc.) why not?

Honestly, I don't give a damn about her age, as long as she's a well-written character and acts her age.

Tygers- I think it's because a big audience of Disney are teenage girls, and they like seeing themselves reflected on the characters. They get to fantasize about being this beautiful young woman who goes on extraordinary adventures and get the hot guy in the time being (i'm guessing none of these girls are queer then).

Overall, I don't see the problem with a young girl as a princess/in a princess film. Elsa, Brave and Alice in Wonderland proved you can make a princess/female lead film without the use of romance and be successful. I think she'd fit nicely and it would work well with the franchise's slogan of "Everybody can be a princess".
