I'm starting to think she might be! Or at the very least, the most popular non-white princess! Think about it, on the official US website her face is visible alongside Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel and Snow White. You have to click to see the remaining princesses. I remember the Designer Dolls, and I distinctly remember the most expensive and rare dolls were Cinderella, Ariel, Belle and MULAN. Beyond The Trailers top four princesses were Cinderella, Belle, Ariel and MULAN. And now she's getting a live action movie after Cinderella and Belle but before princesses like Snow White and Ariel! (Though I think the challenge of filming underwater might be why Ariel hasn't been considered yet)

I'm starting to think that Disney wants to put Mulan on more merchandise but they restrict themselves because she's not really a princess. Unlike Pocahontas, it's very clear that Disney WANTS to include Mulan. (Sofia the First and Kingdom Hearts!) And it makes perfect sense that she's the most popular non-white princess. Pocahontas stirs controversy, Jasmine isn't the main character and Tiana. Well, what's more marketable? A girl kissing a frog and turning into a frog or a girl pretending to be a boy and kicking butt?

^^^Oh, those Designer dolls had those long, false eyelashes. The eyelashes made them look nothing like the princess characters. I could not stand that!!!! The price was prohibitive, too. lol,lol, lol.

IRL people love Mulan, they just forget about her because she's not in the franchise.

and the Internet everyone gushes over her and tells you how much better she is than the other girls all the time.

On the internet, Mulan is SUPER popular for her strength and intelligence. Outside of it, she gets zero merchandise and attention. At least where I live, only big disney fans have seen the movie in the past decade
