She's the first princess to go up and down in different directions with her motivations. As the story progresses, her goals change. I think that's worth noting.

She's not a complex character, nor is she particularly layered, but I'd say she is still three-dimensional. She has aspirations, positive and negative traits, strengths and weaknesses and realistic reactions.

She has some incredibly realistic flaws, ones that make total sense for a privileged teenager who doesn't fit in. I just wish the movie would present them as such. I tolerate idealism fine, but the movie wants her seen as a normal, realistic, relatable girl, when it actually portrays her as idealized as, say, Aurora. The thing about the Classics is Walt intended for them to be idealized but 90s Disney was all "these are *real* girls with real problems" and such.
