She is more manipulative and made herself seem loving, so I feel that she is more villainous for hiding her true colors from Rapunzel.

Definitely. She's much harder on Cinderella ( physical demands), and verbally is much more caustic and manipulative than Mother Gothel is.


Mother Gothel, I feel, simply did the exchange of most of everything Rapunzel wanted ( sans her freedom)-- for a spell to be continually youthful. Mother Gothel was manipulative, true--- but did she crush every little hope that Rapunzel had? Nah. Once a year, on her birthday, Mother Gothel crushed Rapunzel's hopes of leaving her tower. But Tremaine squashed every little hope Cinderella endorsed every day.

Love them both but Mother Gothel is more interesting.
