for sure. It is a fantastic film and very critically acclaimed.

I don't really count the classic princess movies since the awards weren't invented just yet, so between this and Mulan I choose TPATF. But I probably choose it just becuase I'm tired of UP being treated like royalty all the time.

The first oscars was in the late 20s, 7 years before Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (of which was the first feature length animated feature, so unsurprisingly wasn't nominated for an Academy Award.)

Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty where nominated for an Oscars, I think associated with music but neither won.

So the classic princesses movies where in fact produced after the Academy Awards began queenbee13.

Mulan?! Sorry but no. I love Mulan, its one of my favourite princess films but its definately not oscar-worthy out of the movies listed.

You have to think about the time when it was MADE. In my opinion, Cinderella, Snow White or Sleeping Beauty shouldve won an oscar out of these. Snow White because it was the first full-length Disney movie & the first Princess, Sleeping Beauty because the animation is just amazing and Cinderella because it brings out a true and strong message (also has great songs)

And Im not being biased because Sleeping Beauty and Snow White are definately my least favourite Princess films, but considering the time they were made, they're extremely good.

Mulan is awesome but in NO way deserves an academy award. The music is not impressive, the actual story isn't that impressive (fun, but no deep meaning), and the animation is the worst of the films.

People never seem to consider when things were made.

Snow White - 30s
Sleeping Beauty - 50s
Cinderella - 50s
Mulan - 90s

..

I find Mulan has better songs than Cinderella. I'll give you that the animation in Sleeping Beauty is incredible though.

sleeping beauty should win an Oscar for me, 6 years in making should be enough.

Dweeb I didnt say I preferred Cinderella's songs (even though I do) but it just ADDS on to the great story that Cinderella is. My point is that the movie is amazing, along with Snow White and Sleeping Beauty because they were made so long ago. Even if you don't like them (I dont like Sleeping Beauty AT ALL) they are still amazing pieces of animation for the time it was made. People are just picking their favourites I think. I would've picked Mulan but when you actually think it through properly..

The question asks for what deserves it most, not what you would like to win. Because in my opinion Mulan is good (its one of my favourite of the 'princess' movies) but its nowhere near as oscar-worthy as some of the films that were released near to it (such as Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, etc) - I honestly do love Mulan, but just because you love something it doesnt mean its oscar-worthy.

and Princess and the Frog.

I don't know. It's a movie about war. Is that enough to win an Oscar? *shrugs* I don't know how it works.
