Finding a Way to Unwind
Later that day, I was walking down the straat with Allen. He did most of the talking. I mostly listened. He then said, "John, you're a little quiet. What's wrong?" I said, "Nothing." He said, "I know something's wrong." I told him about my nightmare and how it forced me to get up early. Allen said, "That's a terrible nightmare." I said, "I tell myself that I'm fine, but I'm not sure if I am." He said, "You're obviously traumatized from almost being killed." I said, "Yeah." He said, "You know what u need, a way to relax. Have u ever tried camping?" I said, "No." He said, "Maybe u would enjoy it." With permission from Allen's parents and my uncle, we went camping. There's something about being connected to nature. The forest seemed so surreal and dreamlike, especially in the morning. It made me want to write a song. I grabbed my pen and my notebook and began to write. I never went anywhere without those things and my guitar, except to school. Allen asked, "What are u writing?" I said, "A song." He said, "Cool. I've played songs, but I've never written one." I said, "It's easy, really. u just have to find some inspiration and let the muziek come to you." He grabbed his gitaar and said, "I'd like to write a song with you. May I?" I said, "Sure. Nobody's ever offered to write a song with me." We wrote a song called "Mountain Dream." We were really impressed with how the song turned out. After we returned from our trip, we introduced the song to Uncle Bob. He said, "That's impressive. There's a lot of imagery in the song." I knew that my father always wanted me to go to college, but after that, I knew what I wanted to do. I told Uncle Bob that I decided not to go to college. I said, "I'd rather focus on making music. Writing 'Mountain Dream' with Allen is the happiest I've been since Beatle was alive." Uncle Bob said, "Well, it's your decision whether of not u go to college." I said, "Thanks, Uncle Bob."

"What lead u to the club where u first saw us, Henry?" Les asked. Henry replied, "One of my neighbors told me that a rock band called A Wave Tossed in the Ocean was going to perform at the club that had opened the vorige week. I thought that the name sounded interesting, so I asked him what kind of rock music, and he said, 'I think it's stuff from the sixties and seventies.' I was eager to hear the songs from my youth. When I saw u perform, I knew u were the right fit. Of course, u know how we met backstage." Jimmy said, "And the rest is history." Everyone laughed. "Yes," Henry said. "The rest is history." Just then, Felix looked at his cellphone and said, "It's 10:00, guys." Henry said, "We better go to bed. We've got a big dag tomorrow." The boys all said, "Okay. Good night, Henry." Henry smiled and said, "Good night, boys. Pleasant dreams." With that, they retired to their beds for the night.
THE END
THE END
A few hours later, Una and Everett were comfortably snuggled up together on the couch, sharing the last of Una's chocolates which lay in the open box between them, as the credits rolled on the movie.
"That was so good," murmured Una, her head resting on Everett's shoulder. "You know - I was looking vooruit, voorwaarts to your plans, whatever they were going to be, but I was really hoping we'd be able to watch this."
Everett gave a small laugh and shook his head. "I wish I'd known. I could have saved myself all this trouble."
Una grinned. "This year, our Valentine's dag plans were on me," she said. "Next jaar I expect it to be your turn."
Everett felt a warm rush at the thought of volgende year, that Una was so certain they would be celebrating Valentine's dag together volgende year. But then... of course, Everett though. He wouldn't have considered anything different.
"I love you, Una," he said.
"I love u too, Everett," she said.
