My son is 2 years of age at the moment and even now i allow him to watch the meer 'suitable' horror movies, ones with a minimum of bad language and the minimum of actual scary-ness. Blood, guts, gore is fine. Children love that kind of thing.
From the age of 12-15, he may watch whatever he wants to watch but there will be ground rules. If it is a movie of 18 i will watch it first to see if it's appropriate and he does not act anything from the movie, repeat anything of a bad language from the movie unless quoting and only then! And he also promises never to lend to a friend of watch at a vrienden house without zei vrienden parents permission. His vrienden will also not be allowed to watch films above their age at our house unless the parents permission has been gegeven to me and me only.
From 15 years of age, he can watch anything he so wishes and i won't bat an eyelid. From 15 i think he'll be mature enough to understand etc. So it's his choice and his responsibility.
