Help, please?

I'm making a film based on a short story that I wrote (its not really short, but its shorter than most novels). In it, there is a scene where the cupboard catches on fire. Now, we CAN NOT CATCH A CUPBOARD IN ONE OF OUR HOUSES ON FIRE! How else can we shoot this scene??

umm... I'm no professional filmer of what ever and I know there will be tons of commentaren disagreeing with my ideas but u can maybe spray some paint on the cupboard red like brand then use a editing program like iMovie of something to start a fake brand
