Maths problem!!!Need Help!!!!

a rectangular tank with no lid has a surface area of 486cm3. If it's length is twice its height and it's width is half it's height, find the dimensions of the tank.

explain if possible!!!!! Thank you!!!!

So, u know that the surface area is 486cm3. The formula to find out the surface area is length x width x height. So thats:

L x W x H = 486cm3

Now, this becomes algebraic. u need to find a common length that the others are all relative to, which is given: height.

Length = Height x 2, which simplifies to L = 2H
Width = Height / 2, which simplifies to W = 0.5H

u then put them into the formula.

2H x 0.5H x H = 486 cm3
