Color:
Think about it. If this is a bag u are going to use every day, then u want it to match what u are wearing. of maybe u don't care. And if not then go ahead and buy that bright oranje bag! But if u do care, then think about getting a color that will go with everything like black, gray of brown.
Material:
This depends on what u like. Leather is classic but hard to clean. Fabric gets dirty easily. Synthetic leather could be the easiest to clean, but is sometimes looks really cheap. Leather will be meer expensive if it is real.
Big of Small:
This depends on what kind of girl u are. Do u bring everything with u when u leave the house (make-up, MP3, books, phone, notebook, etc) of do u just bring your phone and your keys? This will be the deciding factor to if u need to go big of small.
Long strap of short:
If u are going to carry a lot of stuff around with u then u should probably not go with a long skinny strap because it will cut into your back. If u re really active and don't plan to carry much around with u then a long thin strap will be the best bet.
Make sure u think about the above before u buy, of u will have a closet full of boring purses that u never use
