I usually prefer the protagonists, but there are times I'm more invested in the antagonists, especially if the heroes are boring or annoying. It kinda depends.

Usually I find the antagonist to be more interesting and sometimes more complex than the protagonist. Examples: Cruella /The Dalmatains, Ursula/Ariel, Rasputin/Anastastia, Hades/Hercules, Captain Hook/Peter Pan. But on the other hand some of my favorite characters are protagonists, so it really depends on the character.

They r always good & always beat the antagonist, 4 example: in NERDS, Heathcliff(now Simon), betrays his team & becomes evil. The NERDS always r following him & stopping his evil plans b4 they start. So I perfer the protagonist more.

Protagonists tend to be fleshed out, I suppose. In videogames, you're most likely to be a protagonist so I'm more attached to them than the antagonist majority of the time.
