Does anyone know the age Snape actually became a Deatheater?

I don't remember it being zei in the books, but I haven't read them in a while...I know shame on me O.o. I was just curious as to when of what age he actually became a Deatheater.

He wasn't Death Eater for a long time but he started young so i think he started right after finishing his years at Hogwarts, He was 18 years old soo it was around 1979. Cuz 2 years later Lily would die and it took approximatively 2 years to all the events to happen maybe even 1 jaar xD
