Taka is not Scar's canon birth-name. Taka originated from a non-canon book series unaffiliiated with Disney and only created under Disney's label, and were rendered non-canon door the auteur of the first book in the series which shows Scar and Mufasa's adolescence. In the 2015-2019 sequel series, The Lion Guard, Scar's canon backstory and origin is revealed. Scar was born under the name of "Askari," translating to "soldier" in Swahili, and the second-born cub of the Lion King. Whilst Mufasa would become the volgende ruler of the Pride Lands, Askari was tasked to lead the Lion Guard, a team of lions that protect the Pride Lands and defend the cirkel of Life. Scar's birth-name, Askari, was named after his ancestor, who was the leader of the original Lion Guard. The Lion Guard was consisted of the Pride's fiercest, bravest, fastest, strongest, and keenest of sight. As the leader of the Lion Guard, and the fiercest lion in the Pride Lands, Askari was gifted with the power of the Roar of the Elders, a mystical power in which when he uses it, the Great Kings of the Past would Roar alongside him. Askari lead the Lion Guard in his youth, presumably not far long from Kion's age, which is likely 7 months, and obtained the role for quite some time. One dag in his adolescence, Askari went on a solo patrol in the Outlands, where he met a rouge lion. The stranger manipulated Askari into believing with his power and smarts, they could both rule the Pride Lands. Askari was charmed door the lion's tactics and followed him into the Outlands, but as they were near the volcano, a black-necked spitting cobra attacked Askari, giving him a scar on his left eye. The stranger offered the anti-venom to the bite, in exchange for Askari's servitude, but Askari refused to obey the stranger's orders, so he used the Roar and killed them both. Askari returned to Pride Rock later that dag and alerted Mufasa of his victory, expecting praise from the Pride. However, Mufasa mocked his brother's injury and playfully nicknamed him "Scar." Scar was outraged at this mockery, and started to believe he should be King instead of his older brother Mufasa. Scar soon held a meeting in the Outlands with his Lion Guard and ordered them to help him kill Mufasa. When the Guard refused, Scar used the Roar of the Elders in anger to destroy them. However, because he used the Roar for evil, he would lose the power of the Roar completely, forever, turning him mentally and physically shriveled, and horrible. So ultimately, Askari/Scar was manipulated, cheated, and played like a fool, but he was able to spin the events around into his favor, but was denied the respect and praise he believed he deserved, and was once again, seen as the fool, which made him descend into anger and jealousy. That is canon.
