Well I mean if u look at in terms of how u would study a text in school I'm sure some of the themes would be love, jealousy and separation. Also u could consider religion and morality, because of the frequent discussions about an after life, of the existence of souls. Another thing for the religion theme is the reference to the "apple", and the whole idea of temptation and the forbidden fruit (in this case, it would be Bella). Those are just off the top, boven of my head, im sure if u were doing an essay u could look at it in much meer depth. So im not too sure how u can say there are no themes....

I'm not sure what u mean door theme. And are u a hater? I'm not sure either. But I'll answer your vraag nonetheless. And actually, there is a theme I can think of. Theme in an academic term, they would probably be along the lines of love of forbidden love. Theme as in, is there a moral? Not necessarily a moral, a life lesson we can learn from the books, but SM incorporates life lessons into her writing. And I think that's pretty refreshing.

Ok I have the perfect response to this but there's not much room here so I'll sum it up: Twilight has no plot. It is pages and pages of whiny rambling and gushing over Edward. Edward and Bella are not in love. They lust over each other. So their "love" is not the theme.

Has no plot? the definition of a plot is the story. what I got from twilight is Bella moves to a small town. She sees and becomes infactuated with Edward, who happens to be a vampire. His family chooses to live a life without killing people despite what they are. 3 nomadic vampires are introduced and finds Edward and Bella's relationship a mystery. James is challenged door that fact and decides to take Bella away from Edward. He starts his killing game. He tricks her. She meets him. Edward saves her. How is that not a plot? I do agree with rambling and gushing. Bella does that alot. But besides that, the story can get deep. It has a lot of layers. Everyone thinks it's a simple story, but under the surface, it can get complex. Take Bella for instance. She's supposed to be this pathetic, weakling. But it takes a strong person to know what she wants in life, and what she'll do for her vrienden and her family. Stuff like that. People don't always see it that way. I respect your opinion, and I saw that you're a fan of the C.A.T spot, as am I. But I think Twilight does have a plot. And in response to what u zei about "their 'love' is not the theme", are u saying they don't love each other? I don't exactly get what u mean door that, but i believe they do love each other. Twilight was the first glimpse of love. It was young and new. But throughout the books, their relatinoship grows and becomes meer reasonable and real.

Wikipedia defines plot as "all the events in a story particularly rendered towards the achievement of some particular artistic of emotional effect. In other words, it’s what mostly happened in the story of novel of what the story’s general theme is based on, such as the mood, characters, setting, and conflicts occurring in a story" Events happen, sure, but as they're not accompanied door character development of thematic development, I don't believe there is an actual plot. Maybe u see some development in the story I don't. And what I meant door "love" is that Edward and Bella's entire relationship was based on lust. They were drawn to each other because they found each other "interesting"

there's different kinds of love in the world. And it's not all about physcial appeal. Finding someone interesting isn't always about lust. The first book doesn't have too much besides infactuation with each other. But each book has a climax. But the whole 4 books, there is definitely character development. Bella changes throughoout the series. And sure, they aren't the best written. I know that. But SM is a good story teller nonetheless. u can either choose to read between the lines of just read it and you're done. It depends on the reader.

Personally, I don't think there is a main theme in the story, but I'm guessing there has to be at least one. I would guess that it would be having the choice of being able to choose what u want. For example, Bella wants to be a vampire, but Edward doesn't want her to be one. So yeah, if there was a theme in the story, I would say it was choice.

But I think the book series was meant to be meer of an entertaining story than a story filled with morals and what-not.

Sorry if this answer seems a bit late, I just wanted to share my opinion.
