Twilight Series Vraag

Did anyone notice that Edward is different in the film than in the book?

In the book he is meer relaxed and he laughs and smiles a lot but in the film he seems edgy and he never laughs!!! Tell me if i'm being rediculous!!!;)

Yes I did notice. In the movie, he's meer on edge. He's meer wary and cautious. And in the book, he's meer laid back. His emotions aren't as "drastic" in the book. But u have to understand that the movie is adapted from the novel.

Twilight is 500+ pages. And 500 pages to a 109 page screenplay (script), that's hard to capture the emotion of the characters. The book is meer gradual, yes. But Edward's character in the movie had to toon why he is like that way in the book. The movie included alot of intense scenes. Every scene was heavy, where as, in the book, it's meer gradual and building. So, I don't blame Rob of Catherine for that. That's how it works when adapting a novel to movie.

If Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight in 300+ pages, I'm sure Edward's character would be like that as well. But slightly contradicting what I zei before, they are the same. But squeezing 500 pages into a movie, and trying to get all the details in, the characters are going to be meer dynamic and have meer of an impact than in the book. lol

ps. sorry if I didn't explain too well. This is one of those things where u know what the answer is in your head, but u can't explain it in words. lol

Rob zei that during the set of Twilight Stephanie Meyer gave him Midnight Sun to read it and he understood that Edward is much meer dangerous and he had to look meer scary in the movie to toon who was really Edward. Maybe that's why he didn't smile that much although I can say he actually did smile many times :)

I don't know how u could not notice that. In the movie he is really tense all the time, but in the book he seems meer human.

Well maybe its because the movie is short ... hardly anytime 2 toon the variety of emotions edward ACTUALLY goes through... the time he laughs and smiles is where they have the whole vraag and answer thing which is not really shown properly in the movie cause of the time limit... Which cant really be helped to a certain extent. So yea, there is a difference between edward in twilight the book and twilight the movie
