I think it is soooo stupid how they wait for so long to finally open a movie at the box office when it is ready to be seen !

But have u considered the fact that they have to put the hundreds of scene clips together? They can spend a couple days filming, yet it would only be for one scene. They film hundreds of clips and they are put together in post-prod.
Putting in Special Effects?
And making sure they look real?
And composing the score?
And finding songs for the soundtrack?
There's alot of steps into making the movie. The process after filming is called post-production. And that is the most time consuming. Filming alone takes 2-3 months depending on the weather and other variables like that. Chris Weitz toegevoegd the rough cut to the studio sometime last week. It doesn't mean it's finished. The studio and Stephenie Meyer have to approve of it. There will be a couple meer "drafts" of the movie. Chris Weitz will have the FINAL version of the movie in door October.
