isn’t returning for season 2 until 2018, but HBO has released something to help you get through the long wait (in addition to rewatching the first season): the soundtrack to season 1.
is a 34-track compilation of the series’ music, which iTunes describes as “a cinematic dream world haunted by memories of rock’s past.”
The collection contains both series composer Ramin Djawadi’s (
) original music for the show and the instrumental covers of popular songs by Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, and Amy Winehouse, which Djawadi arranged and fans heard playing on the brothel’s player piano.
“It’s a subtle reminder that says, ‘This is a theme park. It’s not real,’” Djawadi told EW in November, explaining the show’s anachronistic use of modern music in the wild west-inspired theme park.
