You really can't deny it; Amuto owns.

Wooow. Dont some of u realize that the anime was based off the manga and in the manga its BASICALLY a amuto ending and YES ENCORE DOES MATTER DX It part of the MANGA. without the manga there wouldnt have been an anime!!! So please do not say it deosnt matter!!! That kinda pisses me off considering the manga is better.

I don't get how pedophilia could be better.
Before an Amuto fan says "Is not!", I'd like to point out that it's no use. No matter how you twist the story, Ikuto is about 18 while Amu is 12. It IS pedophilia.
Even if Ikuto had been in Amu's age, I still wouldn't ship it though. As Ikuto said, he loves children and feels attached to them. It makes me wonder if Ikuto really is in love with her or if he's just attached to a child. If he's in love with her, well, then he's a pedophile. Sorry, but that's the truth.
