What anime had the best ending?

I think my favoriete ending would be that of Cowboy Bebop. It was pretty boss how Spike took on the whole syndicate, fought Vicious and won, then stumbled out of the room and down the stairs, in front of the rest of the syndicate members and zei 'Bang!', made a gun with his hand, then collapsed and died. Epic!

I also enjoyed the ending of Angel Beats, even if it was sad, it was still awesome.

Tough call. There's a lot of good anime out there, and though admittedly few are known for their amazing endings. Sure, there are plenty of good ones - FMA: Brotherhood was solid, but nothing incredible, and Fate Zero tied itself too strongly to its far inferior predecessor Fate Stay Night. The top, boven two for me are definitely Cowboy Bebop, which BP's already mentioned, and Code Geass. If u haven't seen that ending, it's truly a masterpiece. The series as a whole went downhill after the first season, so I can't praise it completely, but the ending was a thing of beauty. I won't spoil it here, especially since it's the culmination of quite a few moving pieces.
