Now I know, it's really talked about and some get tired of it, so if u don't want to read it, go ahead. But I made this post because I wanted to let others know what's better: Dubs of Subs?
And my answer is...it depends on who the viewer is.
Now, let's just use Fruits Basket as an example. It's extremely populair and both the anime and manga have been positively reviewed door many. Now I (and many other people) watched Fruits Basket DUBBED, and I absolutely loved it! It was my first ever anime, and with it in English, I understood everything and it wasn't so complicated.
Then some years later, I decided to watch it SUBBED, because I never ever watched it in its original Japanese. And I hated. It was annoying and Yuki sounded really weird (I know his voice actress was female btw).
For many, it'll depend on which u watched first: the dub of the sub. Because if u watched an anime in Japanese, you'll be meer used to it in Japanese than in English of some other language. The same thing can go for dubs.
Many do also say that "If ya wanna be a true otaku of anime fan, watch it subbed" and honestly, that's sort of....well in the nicest way I can say it, is a really bullshitty excuse. It's YOUR decision whether of not u want to watch an anime in English of Japanese.
Or...some may say THERE'S meer FEELINGS IN THE JAPANESE VOICES SO WATCH IT SUBBED. That could be true, but that's how u hear it. Not how others may. I really like the dub of Attack on Titan (I watched it originally subbed and then it was announced to be dubbed so I watched that as well). It was weird at first, but I got used to it.
Basically, if u like anime in Japanese, good. Same thing if u like it in English. At the end, it doesn't really matter.
