Board Games Top, Boven 5 Games?

So, what are your top 5 board games? I realize that it's a tough question...for me, it's hard to narrow it down that far. But give it a try: if you had to choose only five games to have, which would they be?

Wow. Given that I don't play games that much more these days this is really tough.

My favorite board game from my younger days was Talisman (from Games Workshop).

These days I'm more inclined to play "Sorry!" with the little ones. Though I have played some "Aquire" recently. But really not a lot of board gaming :-(

But as far as a list of classic games for a "guy" these are mine:
1. Risk - simple but so fun
2. Stratego - 4-person stratego is really fun too
3. Axis and Allies - another classic - but not too complex war game
4. Chinese Checkers - I love this game. Much better than draughts/regular checkers
5. Diplomacy - Cool game that requires a lot of talking and dealing. I love those kinds of games.

Needless to say, Talisman is also one of my favorites, though I never think it's going to take as long as it does. Have you seen the new version?

Acquire is a great game (I'm adding links to each of these). I imagine that Michael would be happy to see Diplomacy on your list.

I'd say...
1. Risk
2. Settlers of Catan
3. Scrabble
4. Boggle
I can't really think of a 5th one right now...

Some friends and I get together to play games at least once a week. Some regulars are (in no particular order): Nameburst, Password, Pyramid, Parcheesi, and Backgammon. Fun times.

5. Stratego

My friend's dad also owns this game called Ticket to Ride. Also a lot of fun. Feelings to get hurt though, or atleast they do when we play.

How do feelings get hurt playing Ticket To Ride? By blocking off cities? Can you do that in Ticket to Ride? I only have Ticket to Ride: Europe, which has a mechanic where you can use other players' rails, and I don't remember whether that was new to that game or existed in the original, too.

I've never heard of Razzle. Is there a link in this spot?

It's surprisingly fun and easy to learn (though we're still uncovering new strategies and tactics as we go along).
