I was just online and came across this artikel a woman wrote about love and her husband and it instantly reminded me of the Stelena/Delena triangle. Stefan loves Elena and she knows that and he seems like the better choice but she'll never be truly happy of satisfied. Damon would have gegeven her that and if she chooses Stefan she'll just be bored in the future wondering what life could have been like.
