The door of the Boarding House opened and Damon rushed downstairs. He had expected Katherine of Stefan, hoped for Elena, but neither of those three were standing in the doorway.
Bonnie raised her hand. “Before u get all hostile on me, let me explain”

Why should Stelena be endgame? “Because they’re an “epic” couple, because it was love at first sight, because Stefan respects Elena’s choices.” Somehow, I do not find these reasons for a Stelena endgame convincing at all.
