so we're all turning against Elena again :/ I know she treated Damon like crap this episode and he certainly didn't deserve it ...but she's a vampire now ... heightened feelings and all that crap and she's rebelling out...trying to be/ listen to Stefan but slowly she realizes that she is more like Damon and this scares her ..because it shows she just has so much more in common with him, and this is gonna impact her decision to be with Stefan ...we need to give her time ....just sayn'

@laurik2007 it's not just about this episode it's about ALL the other times she give him hope then brooke his heart to little piceses this like the 6th time or something that she breaks his heart,and exactly how much time does she need?? Because it has been 2 years now(TVD time) 3 years of the show and she still can't put her feelings for him into words

Yes, Elena can be ungratefull for all the things Damon does for her. That doesn't mean she doesn't deserve him. Look at all the things she had done for him. If it weren't for Elena, Damon wouldn't be this good. Elena had a big part in changing Damon. Zo yes, she deserves his freindship if you ask me.

^ totally agree. It's true she is really unjust to him sometimes, but if you think about it she also did a lot of good things for him. She was the only one who decided to trust him and have faith in him, while everybody else (with few exceptions) STILL believe Damon's just the bad guy and shouldn't be trusted.

^ yes ...she did this a lot ...being unfair to him ...but she also put him first sometimes ... She is selfish yes, because she knows that she has to let him go ...but she can't because she needs him and in the process hurts him sometimes .... but we wouldn't be here if we didn't believe they deserve each other ... Elena makes him happy and vice versa ...

Τhe truth is she don't like Damon's personality as a vampire. She is atrracted to him and she loves that he can make her smile but she is so righteuous that she just can't let herself enjoy life.....But it will change that someday...

Yes. Because screwing up and being afraid of change, being afraid of doing what she wants and what her heart is telling her and not what she has thinks she "should" do is hard. She's growing up, she's going through a learning process. We're getting there step by step.

I'm sad looking at the results of this poll. Elena can be inconsistent with how she is towards Damon, but it's not a straightforward love triangle now, is it? Everyone thinks that it should go: girl falls in love with 1st guy, goes off him or he leaves her; meets 2nd guy and falls in love with HIM, then 1st guy comes back into the picture, and throws the girl and guy no. 2 off balance, so she ends up being in love with both of them, until eventually she makes a decision or has an epiphany that she really belongs with X. That's not how it is with the show. Elena doesn't WANT to admit she is in love with Damon, furthermore, she's afraid of being in love with him, and what that'll mean for her. She's fighting against it. Until she can openly admit how much he means to her, her behaviour and some of the things she says aren't always going to make sense. Not only that, but I don't think it's about what she 'deserves', because it's love we're talking about here. Damon didn't deserve Elena's love when they met, he did some very messed-up, screwy things to people, but I don't see anyone here saying anything about that. I remember around S2, when Kevin and Julie did this interview and said that Damon still had a way to go before he 'deserved' Elena, and I never liked that. Because love isn't about a points system, where, if you're 'good' enough, or perfect enough, then you'll be 'rewarded' by meeting someone who will love you and you'll live happily ever after. That's not what love is about. I always believed Damon deserved Elena even when he was bad, so I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say Elena doesn't deserve Damon just because she hasn't treated him as well as people would like. If I DIDN'T think she deserved Damon, and if I didn't think DE were good together, then I wouldn't ship them. Basically, the people who picked 'no' need to rremember that if it weren't for Elena in the first place, Damon wouldn't be where, or who he is now.
