Happy Tanabata, everyone. Here’s the promised translation of Kodaka’s Dangan Ronpa Tanabata tweets, from earliest to latest. Spoilers for both games, probably.

Monokuma “Oooooohh! I want to change Japan…I want to change this world!”

Monomi “I want to sing and dance together with Maizono Sayaka-san! Maizono-san, happy birthday! Lovey dovey.”

Naegi “My wish is for my family to have safe and peaceful lives…oops, the strap on the

fell off. That’s just bad luck…or in this case, a bad omen.”

Togami “Hmph. Only fools will resort to wishing upon a star. I’ll obtain everything that I desire with my own power. This is the way of Togami Byakuya.”

Nanami “Wishes…wishes…wis-….oh, I’m sorry. I might’ve fallen asleep. Ummm, what was it again? Hikoboshi and Orihime are kinda like Nuts & Milk, or maybe Binary Land.”

Fukawa “I want to become one with Byakuya-sama…and give birth to lots of children that look like Byakuya-sama…and to be surrounded by lots of B-byakuya-sama…aha, ahaha….isn’t that a Byakuya-sama paradise!”

Tanaka “I have but one wish! For the entire universe to come under my control! Ahahahahaha! And…I do think it would be quite agreeable if the Four Dark Gods of Destruction were to stay in good health for as long as possible.”

Hanamura “Hey, Orihime-sama. I’ll make you forget that Hikoboshi right away. With my signature dishes and my signature techniques. Fufufu, come here. Let me give you a taste of heaven on the bed.”

Saionji “My wish is for Koizumi-onee to take a bath with me! And I’ll never forgive ugly pigs who are happier than I am!”

Souda “I won’t ask for much. I won’t wish for you to fall for me. But at least smile at me! Please, Sonia-saaaan!”

Togami “I want to find a true all-you-can-eat meal. I want to see what lies…beyond the limits (of the restaurants).”

Asahina “Wouldn’t it feel nice to take a swim in the milky way? I want float along while eating donuts. Man~ Just thinking about it makes me think I’ve got a good life.”

Koizumi “I don’t really have any particular wish. I don’t need to be the one to stand out. It’s better if I can just stay on the sidelines and capture everyone’s smiles on film, I think.”

Kirigiri “I don’t have a wish…but if I say that, everyone will call me ‘such a cold woman’ again. How troubling…hey, maybe you can help me come up with something?”
