Different can be good..
Being exceptionally talented is different, and I don't think society condemns exceptional people.

Not necessarily. It's pretty subjective.

This statement is not true in every instance, and is therefore false. It is true in some instances.

A person with antisocial personality disorder with tendencies towards serial murder is different/unusual and condemned by society (for good reason).

However, a person with an IQ of 190 is different/unusual and applauded by society.

Average is simply that. Average.

Someone who is exceptionally rich/beautiful/intelligent can also be characterized as "different", but they wouldn't be rejected by society. That only happens in cases where different is considered negative (though what is negative and what is not is generally very subjective, which can lead to unfair prejudice.)

This statement is not true in every instance, and is therefore false.
Cinders, you sound exactly like my Math teacher xD

Aw, hell no. I've been in many experiences where difference is at the very least given a nod of acknowledgement. At the most, it's celebrated.
