Sappp So I just watched this and was in tears. This is exactly what I mean every time I tell people 'So you're against abortion in all cases, but do you realise what that means for rape victims?' only this conveys the message a lot better than I ever could. Thank you, for bringing this woman to my attention (that the second poet I discovered thanks to you, Suheir Hammad being the other. Love her)

Cinders XD! They're both brilliant, aren't they, especially Hammad. Sometimes, when I'm bored, I go on YouTube and listen to slam poetry. What, doesn't everyone do that on YouTube? What else is on that site, anyway? I hear there's something about a panda sneezing? ;o)

Sappp The first time I listened to Hammad (first writing since) I spent almost three hours listening/watching Def Poetry movies. One done - click next - and next etc. Lots of good ones, but Hammad is the best IMO.

Cinders I agree, I really love her stuff. Hers, and Sarah Kay's stuff I find really touching and powerful. Sarah Kay is more uplifting than Suheir Hammad. I really love "Hands" and "If I Should Have a Daughter." "First Writing Since," I do believe, is my favorite piece of Hammad's. But I also really like "Not Your Erotic, Not Your Exotic." XD
