i dunno echo is the main character the one that all the other characters revolve around, they're never the best character, the best characters are always the ones on the outside, or at least i don't think i've ever liked a main figure in a tv show

I really want to see what they do with Echo. I think it will be like Buffy as far as focus, Echo will be the center and the other characters will form the family around her and knowing Joss they have as much weight as Echo. I've been excited about this show since I heard about it but with the addition of Amy I'm over the moon. Looking foward to seeing how see plays the wit. Looking forward to an Illyria like tongue.

I have changed my answer, lol. I've never actually liked a main character in anything Joss did I think, not in Angel, Buffy, or the few episodes I've seen in Firefly. Some of my shows that I watch I like the main character, but not usually.

yeah sometimes i really like angel but sometimes in angel it feels like they all have equal roles where as unless it's a episode specifically about another character in buffy it's main focus is always buffy, if that makes sense?

I agree. I like Angel sometimes, but I find Cordelia, Fred, Illyria, Wesley, Lindsay, Lilah, well you get it, so much more interesting. The same with Buffy, I like her sometimes, but I find the other characters more interesting.

I usually like the main characters in comedy shows I watch. In Roseanne, there was nothing she could do to get me to dislike her, lol. In Smallville, I really dislike Clark and Lana, but love Lex and Chloe. Charmed I love Piper the most, but prefered Cole over the other three sisters. I think Heroes is the only show I like the main character in sci-fi shows I watch, and that might be only because I like the dynamic he has with his brother.

Not going to lie. My answer is completely based on Amy. Won't even try to come up with a real excuse for me.

Oh, on main characters versus their sidekicks (not the phone) I just watched (about 2 hours ago) the first disk of Smallville (for the first time) and Lex and Chloe are my favorites. There is something to this sidekick stuff. That had nothing to do with the beginning of the paragraph, but here we are. I'll go now.

His names Pete. I lost a lot of interest after season four, but I kept watching cause of Lex, lol. But since Micheal Rosenbaum is leaving after this season, I might stop watching.

I thought that to at first. I was like, "How the h*** can there be Smallville without Lex?" But no, it's been renued for another season.

I'm very, very, very new to Smallville but I can say that Lex is the best thing I have seen. Is he completely off, or just not a regular?

I'm not sure, he might be in for a few episodes as a guest star I think.

This could be the final nail in the WB/CW coffin for me. First Buffy, then Angel, now Smallville (which was going to fend off my James fix). Not right. So wrong. Makes me write in fragments. Wrong. Evil. WB. CW. Whatever they are called. Evil.
