How do u feel about how Bonnie ended her friendship with Elena in episode 1x19 ?

I loved their friendship and it was upsetting. Bonnie quotes. "I'm not going to make u choose sides" and she ignores Elena

Isn't that technically like Bonnie is choosing sides for Elena?
